Tundra Semiconductor and Silicon Turnkey Express Announce Commercial Availability of RapidIO(R) Hardware Interoperability Platform Prototyping System
SMART NETWORKS DEVELOPER FORUM, FRANKFURT, Germany, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire- FirstCall/ -- Tundra Semiconductor Corporation (TSX:TUN), the leader in System Interconnect, today announced the commercial availability of the RapidIO Hardware Interoperability Platform prototyping system (HIP). Tundra also announced the newest member of the Tundra Third Party Partner program - Silicon Turnkey Express a division of RPC Electronics, Inc. - as the manufacturer and distributor for the HIP.
The HIP, which has generated momentum with silicon manufacturers, diagnostic tool developers and real time operating systems (RTOS) vendors, is a key RapidIO enabler. It provides an interoperability foundation for semiconductor, connector, diagnostic tools, software, backplane vendors, systems architects and designers to build upon.
The HIP architecture is a RapidIO platform supported by software development tools and hardware diagnostic tools that enables designers to seamlessly and cost-effectively prototype with RapidIO technology. All RapidIO semiconductor vendors have used the HIP for their interoperability and component testing.
"Silicon Turnkey Express is pleased to have been chosen by Tundra to manufacture and distribute the HIP," says Robert Applebaum, President and CEO, Silicon Turnkey Express. "This launch marks the beginning of what we know will be a mutually successful and extensive relationship. We look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with Tundra as they continue to develop solutions that customers value."
"We are excited about having Silicon Turnkey Express as one of our Third Party Partner program members," said Rick O'Connor, Chief Technology Officer at Tundra. "They will help Tundra respond to our customers needs for low-risk solutions and shorter product development cycles. They are integral members of the RapidIO ecosystem."
